What is the TransparentSea Reporting Solution?

The TransparentSea Reporting Solution is an internet-based application that enables inspection findings to be filed under hotspots on digitized versions of a ship's principal drawings.

Supported by digital media files, e.g. photographs, video and audio files, and positioned accurately in relation to the point of inspection, inspection reports are stored in a highly secure repository. Public Key Infrastructure secures non-repudiation and tamper-proofing of reports, under storage and during transfer of reports. Access to reports stored on the repository server is controlled exclusively by the repository owner.

The system architecture encourages life-time reporting and enables keyword searching and subsequent trend analysis across reports stored, thus offering potentially significant contributions to improved safety.
